Candle Care & Burning Guide
Prepare your candle
Remove all packaging and labels before lighting. Always place on a heat- and flame-resistant holder, away from drafts.
Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to approximately 5β6 mm (ΒΌ inch). This helps maintain a steady flame and prevents excess smoke.
First burn
For the first lighting, allow the candle to burn for 2β3 hours, until the melted wax reaches close to the edges. This sets the burn pattern and helps prevent tunnelling.
Ongoing burns
Beeswax candles thrive when burned for a minimum of 3β4 hours at a time. Longer, steady burns support an even flame and longer life.
Support the candle
As the candle burns down, the outer edges may remain slightly higher. When the wax is soft, you can gently βhugβ the edges inward to help feed the flame naturally.
Extinguishing
To extinguish, gently dip the wick into the melted wax, then straighten it. This reduces smoke and prepares the candle for its next lighting.
